Serial Production

As announced in the previous post, this one will showcase what serial production of PapeRanpu pendant lamps looks like. As I went into details of the manufacturing process in that previous post, this last one will be more of a photo gallery in order not to repeat myself. But first, some introduction is needed.

After coming back to Zagreb from the Christmas and New Year holidays, I bought some more tools and material needed for five more lamps. Five seemed to me like a reasonable number, not too much as to be unmanageable but still substantial. I didn’t glue up the prototype of the version 3 so I could use its parts as templates and to check what I was doing with this 1st series.

And this is what it looked like…

Stiles (corner pieces)
Top frame elements
Bottom frame elements
Rails for the top frame
Rails for the pattern of the bottom frame
All the parts for the frameworks
Top frames assembled
Bottom frames assembled
Top and bottom frames coated
Frames assembled
Elements for the kumiko
Kumiko frames
Kumiko panels
Bottom frames with shoji paper glued
The whole bunch

And this is the end of the origin series. You can find previous sequels on

Stay tuned to discover (with me) how PapeRanpu will develop from here!
